Finding the Thread

When you can't quite find the words

Sometimes you don’t need another appointment. You need somewhere to put the whole messy thing - the conversation you keep replaying, the decision you can’t make, the relationship dynamic you can’t explain, or the feeling you can’t quite name.Finding the Thread is a private, asynchronous reflection space where you can bring the messy version first. No appointment. No need to organize your thoughts before you send them.Bring me the mess. We'll find the thread.

How Finding the Thread Works

Finding the Thread is a private, one-to-one asynchronous reflection service. Instead of scheduling an appointment, you send me a voice note or written message when you have something you want to untangle.I listen for the patterns, themes, language, and underlying thread in what you share, then send you a thoughtful personalized reflection to help you understand what you’re experiencing, find the words for it, and hear yourself more clearly. You might bring me a relationship situation, a decision you’re wrestling with, a difficult conversation you’re preparing for, a boundary you’re trying to understand, or simply a collection of thoughts that feel tangled together.

Founding Membership

Finding the Thread is currently available at a founding rate of $150/month.Your membership includes 8 Reflection Exchanges each month. An exchange is one topic or thread we’re exploring together - not every individual message. You send me a voice note or written message. I’ll listen, reflect, and respond personally within 2 business days. Often, you may hear from me sooner.
After my reflection, you can send one brief follow-up question or clarification about that same thread.
At the end of each month, I’ll also send you a Finding the Thread Reflection - a short synthesis of the themes, patterns, language, and shifts I’ve noticed across our conversations. There are no scheduled appointments and no expectation that you show up at a particular time. You bring things to me as life happens, and I respond asynchronously during my working hours.Founding Membership: $150/month

Is this therapy?

No. Although I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, Finding the Thread is a separate, non-clinical reflection and coaching service. When we work together here, I’m not acting as your therapist and our work does not create a therapist-client relationship.Finding the Thread isn’t psychotherapy, diagnosis, trauma treatment, crisis support, or treatment for a mental health condition. If something you bring me would be better supported within a therapeutic relationship, I’ll let you know. You don’t have to be struggling psychologically to deserve a thoughtful place to think out loud.Sometimes being human is complicated enough.

Hi I'm AmandaI’m a therapist, writer, and professional untangler of complicated human things. I’ve spent more than 16 years as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Trauma Therapist, sitting with people while they try to make sense of relationships, decisions, emotions, patterns, and all the other beautifully messy parts of being human.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that one of the things I love most is finding the thread - the moment when someone has told me the whole tangled story and I can reflect something back that makes them say, “YES. That’s it! That’s what I’ve been trying to say.”Finding the Thread grew out of that.I’m not here to tell you what your answer should be. I’m here to listen carefully, notice what may be getting lost in all the noise, and help you find language for what you already know somewhere inside.

Ready to find the thread?

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Yes. I could use this,” I’d love to work with you.You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on. You don’t need to prepare anything. And you definitely don’t need to make the messy thing less messy before you bring it to me.You can bring it exactly as it is.

Bring me the mess. We'll find the thread.
